The Keene rocker is built of solid Northern White Cedar.  No treatment is applied to the wood.  You can opt to stain the chair to change its color, but many people love the natural look of the untreated cedar as it changes evenly over time to a gentle silver gray.  Cedar is unique in its ability to weather without treatment.
